Stress is a REALLY Good Motivator

I am pretty stressed right now. I have made some major progress by making a title screen. I made a personal mouse for my game, and I have made the character, and I have made the background for the grasslands. I am going to code a few more things, but my goal is to have a game that will take less than a 2 minutes to play. This is because there are going to be a ton of attractions on presentation day, and I don't want people to feel like they have to finish the game and they get stuck there for like 6 minutes. It shouldn't take more than 2 minutes. Thanks for all the support, as always.

Good Things

I have made my main character run around the screen which is an accomplishment in my books. I made a back ground and I have started on the enemies, I am going to cram in the next few weeks remaining. The portfolio project has distracted me and all my effort has gone into that. I'm not sure that it will be a finished product, but I'll make it playable for what it's worth.

I have Made Little Progress

I have reached a weird point in my game. I want to continue to make it, but I can't find out how to use the tool. I am going to slowly teach myself. Which will take a while. It will get done though. I have figured out what kind of game it's going to be, and how I'm going to present it. That's about all I've done. I will continue to make it until the final second. Thanks for all the support.

Solution to the Problem

I have found a software that is Mac compatible and seems reasonable to a person with little or no experience with coding. I find it interesting, the software's name is Stencyl. I like it because it's user friendly and doesn't take that much to learn. Obviously though it's not going to be a walk in the park. It's not my kind of thing if it doesn't make me use my brain. Anyway, I also know what my main character is going to look like. He is going to be a monkey. I thought it would be ironic because it's supposed to be a pretty serious game with the apocalypse going on around him. I decided what I'm going to show off as well. I am going to make my favorite dungeon out of the seven in the game, and make that one. It may take an experienced player 3-5 minutes, or a newbie 6-7 minutes. I don't plan for it to be like a 40 minute game. Thanks for everything, Ethan.

2/24/17

Today I ran into a problem. I found out that the software that I was going to use to program my game only supports Windows. I am using a Mac book not a Windows computer. I'm going to try to solve this problem, but I can't download anything to this computer. Which is a problem because it's the only computer that uses windows at my house. Anyway, I just wanted to say that if you have any suggestions I'd be open to them. Thanks again. -Ethan T.

Project Proposal

This is my project proposal. I am making a very basic video game. I hope to have fun, and help others have fun. I hope you enjoy. I liked playing video games since I was like four. I always wanted to make one. Just never actually thought that it was a possibility. I am super excited, and I can't wait to see how it turns out even if it's an awful disaster. Thanks for all the support.
